Mission and Philosophy

The mission of the Westminster Preschool of First Presbyterian Church of Logan is to provide outstanding early childhood education for preschool age children in our region. We view early childhood as an essential foundation for the development of children’s social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language growth. Our philosophy is to capture the teachable moments that happen every day by fostering the intellectual, creative, social, emotional, and physical growth and development of our students and to inspire a lifelong commitment to learning. It is the philosophy of Westminster Preschool that children be encouraged to learn and grow by providing a foundation of developmentally appropriate experiences where all children can succeed in a safe and nurturing environment.

About

The Westminster Preschool of First Presbyterian Church of Logan began as an outreach ministry of the church more than four decades ago. Residents of Hocking and surrounding areas have trusted Westminster Preschool to give their children a high-quality preschool experience in a loving and nurturing church setting. We offer a large variety of dynamic activities to help stimulate development of children in our care including art, science, math, fine and gross motor skills, language, dramatic play and music. Careful planning is structured to encourage curiosity for learning, social interaction, and creativity. The Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards guide our curriculum which highlights all areas of school readiness.
